| DESIGN NAME: Ham Saye Apartment PRIMARY FUNCTION: Apartment INSPIRATION: In Iranian Culture the relationship between neighbors is important which is neglected in modern life. According to the vernacular standards for housing, we create common spaces for users to save the neighborhood culture. Also lowering the building cost was the main challenge for us. So we designed simple details and used recycled materials. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The site is in a low income region. We reduced the cost by using lower price details & materials. Design characteristic: -Communication: The interior communal spaces such as a shared library and a playground with a pleasant view.-Diversity: Creating inner order based on diversity as well as harmony. Reducing repetitive elements & using a modular system to design the facade & plans.-Originality: Designing based on function.-A home: Enough amount of daylight & terraces as gardens. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The first imagery came from the appearance of buildings in the neighborhood. So we decided to create a white material in order to save the harmony. Facade provides numerous lighting and view scenarios for the people inside the building. Diversity, communications and originality are other factors that affected the form,shape and interior spaces. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Creating the white facade by combining recycled stone and cement. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The residential area is about 6500 sq.m in six floors and two underground levels for parking. TAGS: Iran, Ham Saye, The Neighbor, Razan RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Seeking an innovative method of blend recycled local stones and cement and creating the white facade was one of the most important parts of the design. Also addressing on the context and user's need led into an assessment of site's potential. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to build an apartment with low budget and on the other hand raise the quality of living space. We tried to bring the architecture into the homes of ones who had forgotten the quality because of its high cost.
