The inspiration for the piece was to showcase bamboo as a high-end versatile material using hand-based limited production techniques, as an alternative to the plethora of mass produced petroleum-based furniture pieces. A focus was placed on using environmentally-aware production methods and finishes, whilst placing importance on the tactile qualities of the material increasing its longevity and retention as a consumer item. The bamboo end-grain patterning creates a visually complex piece.
