| DESIGN NAME: Star PRIMARY FUNCTION: Seafood Restaurant INSPIRATION: The eye-catching form of the restaurant comes from starfish which is the first thing appears in your eyes while your fit touch the Persian gulf water on the beach. The goal is to bring a sense of sea calm into interior space of restaurant while eating seafood. At nigh, the porous form of it’s roof seems like starts in the sky, which reflects the lights inside to outer space. The porous vacuum ABS material used in the structural base reflects the amazing cheesy-like body of the starfish which makes emotional connection with people beside it’s solid structure. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This unique restaurant has been one of the most important constructions in Kish Island since 2016, which is located in the coral coast of Kish Island. The building is not only bio-phormic, creative, contemporary and modern, but also make emotional connection with people by it’s design. The porous vacuum ABS material used in the structure is made by two layers that do not permit the heat to exchange. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Star Project is located in the most famous place of Kish Island the place Which is touristic place as well, next to the Persian gulf beach with the eye-catching view of sea waves surrounded. The building is not only bio-phormic and modern, but also make emotional connection with people by it’s design. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The construction of the project started in september 2016 in Kish Island and up to now is under construction. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main Design Software: Auto CAD, Rhinoceros, Grass Hopper, Vray, Illustrator, Photoshop CS SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The height of the building is 8.5 meters, The inner Height is 6.30 meters, The overall gross area is 1360 meters and the interior gross area is 600 meters. TAGS: star, Kish Island, Restaurant, Bio, Seafood restaurant, Bio-phormic, Architecture, Saber Sajadi, Nima Bavardi RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The first thing which appears in your eyes while your fit touch the Persian gulf water on the beach is starfish and It is one of the most important icon in Kish Island, so we decided to design a new bio-phormic concept based on bio-form. Then we presented a 3 dimension organic shape of perfect form, in which there is no dead point for all view angles. Morever This building is harmonious with its surroundings which is look like a huge starfish on the coach. And for the outer illumination we designed a porous structure which reflects the inner lights to outer space. In addition, We used two-layered roof for not permitting the heat to exchange. CHALLENGE: Our main concern designing this unique restaurant was to join structural performance and aesthetic beauty in on new concept of restaurant and make emotional connection between people and the building and bring a sense of sea calmness while eating seafood.
