| DESIGN NAME: ARTIZEN PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting INSPIRATION: Artizen is not only a chandelier, it is also an expression of pure human feelings expressed through an art. It is like an sculptural design which is also be lighting for spaces. Masculin materials such as glass and brass are sculpted into an organic form by hand. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Artizen has a classic chandelier form and the flexibility to change shapes. Just adjusting the lines up to the top or down it forms an different design by preference of the user. This system provide us multiple usage of the design in spaces. As a designer, I believe that an object must be useful in life, gives a feeling to be unique, and has a story. 'Artizen' represents movements like mobile liquids. While observing the design you can see the flow feeling of the each brass lines and the whole design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Drawing sketches of glass pieces are the first move of the project, then we prepared samples. Each glass forms are blowed seperately by glass masters. On the top of glass bulbs there are two holes made for connection system to join two seperate pieces of design. Later by the help of special molds, brass lines are formed and connected to the blowed glass bulbs. Artizen has a classic chandelier form and the flexibility to change shapes by just adjusting the lines up on the design. We create flexible brass lines for this feature. Inside of the brass tubes there are electric cables for finnishing. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2016 and finished in May 2016 in Istanbul and currently exhibition in BOU Art&Design. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The masculin materials as glass and brass compose an organic form and built by hand. Brass parts are made by special handmade molds which is connecting to blowed glass parts. All glass pieces are made by hand, one by one. 'Artizen' can change shapes just by adjusting the lines up and down. This shiftable design shape can be perepered by preference. Also 'Artizen' has different qualities adapt to the new tecnological systems which are used in lighting industry. With dimmeable led tecnology, our design is also energy-saver. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Ø:80 h:141 cm G9 Bulb LED Lighting - Porcelain Holder TAGS: lighting, glass, chandelier, brass, unique, design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design, 'Artizen', can make different people get together by free preferences, can change shape for different uses, different hights but not losing its from and basics. This opportunity gives users a freedom. To create the main design all these features are considered for formed an usefull and visually impressive design. The masculen materials, glass and brass are used to form the design by the philosophy of timeless design strategy. CHALLENGE: Materials such as glass and brass are sculpted into an organic, natural form by the hand. This time period was tough but in the end it become a succes. Brass tubes are made by special molds created by us and connecting other glass parts. All glass bulbs are handmade. Each glass pieces had own unique size and that makes standardization difficult.
