| DESIGN NAME: Icicle PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting INSPIRATION: As its name suggests, this lighting design is inspired by the most amazing happening in nature. This fascinating lighting is influenced by Icicle in nature. Water is the symbol of Light in East. Considering that Icicles are made of frozen water, it was tried to present that feeling of peace by observing the glint of sunshine on frozen drops of water and it causes the harmony of this design with the spirit of the nature. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is made of concrete, using concrete in this lighting express the strong physical and emotional impression. Mild and peaceful light of this product reminds reflection of sunshine on icicle and it has all kind of associations for the users of the depth of the nature. So it separates people from the urban chaos. Modernity has been considered in the form and materials, in order to match easily with contemporary homes and design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Particular design of this lighting makes special sense of the nature indoors. This lighting appropriate for all kind of space and internal interior designs. This simple and effective material of this lighting impresses and connect with users at the first glance. The rays of light spread out gently from the cracks on the concrete surface and it causes calmness. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main material is concrete and the method of production is 3D Printing. All electronic units are placed inside. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 400 mm x Depth 400 mm x Height 690 mm TAGS: Lighting, Icicle, Concrete , Interior design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research in this project was mainly on designing a lighting that changes people’s atmosphere and make particular emotion, it is inspired by nature and icicle that combines the spaces in nature with the spaces of internal interior modern homes. Plus the users will be able to imagine themselves in the pure nature. Concrete has been considered in this product, the combination of firm concrete and soft light caused a kind of complimentary contrast that can be found in the nature and the result is the sensation and presence in the nature. The inspiration by the nature has always been my obsession because it distances the clamorous urban life style and it let you to be touched by the spirit of the nature . This lighting creates different and unique experiences in users. CHALLENGE: The target is how to bring feeling of the nature in the user’s homes to create attraction for the users. And the most challenging part of the project is too choose the materials because it is needed to be accorded with the form and it supposed to infuse the feeling of presence in the nature.
