INSPIRATION:
Vinyl revival is so high these days, that I just came up with the idea to create a vinyl player. As a designer and audio enthusiast I wanted to show entire playing process and to involve listener into playing process as much as possible. By changing vinyls, manually changing speeds and adjusting tonearm player is involved into playing process. My goal was to create small luxury player, that everyone would love to have. I paid attention to the demands of our fastidious and picky consumer.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The design combined with innovative engineering solutions made this turntable great. The main new thing in this turntable is tonearm disc, which enables to use different length tonearms. The aim of design was to make it look light and luxury. Upper part is transparent, so motor and legs can be seen. Everything is controlled by hand, so a user is more involved in the entire playing process. This turntable is designed for an audiophile who adores immaculate and perfect quality of music.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The player is easily operated, just first time after unpacking tonearm should be set correctly. Rubber belt should be added onto the platter and spindle and that's all. Speed change is fully manual- belt can be put on narrower or wider part of spindle. Attention should be paid to player's placement- it must stand on flat and not moving surface. If surface is slanting-each leg's height can be adjusted.

This project was started in 2013 in Vilnius and finished in 2013 in Vilnius.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The top of turntable is made of laser-cut metal and later anodized. The lower transparent part under black metal is made from acrylic plastic (laser cut and hand polished). Platter is turned from many glued layers of plywood and later turned. Metal parts are precision machine turned also. Adjustable height legs are precisely turned together with tonearm disc and metal speed spindle. Every detail is very accurate.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Fully working prototype. Plays Very well. Width: 555 mm, Depth: 380 mm Height (Without a tonearm): 80 mm. Vinyl player motor is synchronical, that ensures playing stability. It's maintenance is 220v. Player has two speeds: 33.3 and 45 rpm that are changed manually. Tonearm disc can be turned to find it's best position for sound. The is a on/off button with blue light. Weight-about 5kg.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
In the project process a number of maths and physics measurements were performed, such as turntable position and place, deviations from the disc centre. I have made many renderings and sketches till I finally came up with an existing type of design. I have studied the driving functions, how it is working as well as did some market research on consumers' demands, interviews with manufacturers and engineers. As a hi-fi and hi-end audio enthusiast I have done all these things by myself.

CHALLENGE:
Knowing that many turntables are on the market it was really a challenge to offer something new. But engineer offered innovative tonearm disc. My goal was to use fewer supplementary parts, microchips and not to complicate or overload the production process. The hard part was to find exact positions between the platter, the tonearm and the spindle, because it matters a lot to the sound and working quality. Also, ensuring accurate dimensions for all parts was a challenge.

The company was established in 2007. Company's profile is Hi-End sound equipment: turntables and their accessories. Their products are famous for quality and updated engineering solutions. During 10 years, many products came to market. Several turntables and tonearms. Turntable "Muse 3C" was awarded a Red Dot and IF design awards. Also, tonearm "3C"won a Red Dot design award.
