| DESIGN NAME: Horizontal House PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: The inspiration is based on the clients design brief, site and the views. Further to accommodating the client design brief we wanted to insure we preserve the best views by slightly moving the house around its axis and placing all the main living spaces to enjoy the views. The open layout of the main living spaces provides a great space to view the 180 degree panoramic views. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Omid Rouhani Architectural Design was commissioned to design a B+G+1+Loft custom home on the world acclaimed Palm Jumeira, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Palm Jumeira is a man made island in the shape of a palm of the coast of Dubai. Due to the harsh climatic conditions of the region both active and passive design solutions have been incorporated within the design. Some of the solutions are, adjustable shading louvers, hanging vertical gardens and a green roof design.
