| DESIGN NAME: Treasures PRIMARY FUNCTION: Eco Fashion INSPIRATION: The ease, fantasy and inquiring mind of children inspires Sophia. These impressions makes her dream and she translates these images into her work. A fashionable "mini-me" world is created in the family image, which means Sophia dress children and adults into related combinations in the parent-child sibling concept. This is how she develop new identities with a sense of belonging together, but free of hierarchy. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Sophia creates smart cuts, in neoclassical forms, with a romantic flair. The harmony between material and color is very important to her, she likes to use flattering, organic fabrics to feel good, because fashion is the second skin. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: As a eco label Sophia produces in small series and on request,so she avoid overproduction. For her collections, Sophia only use organic fabrics and fibers. The material blends that are produced during production are sent to recycling companies like renew in Sweden. They process new yarns and fabrics from the remains. Sophias customers sends back worn clothes and are redesigned by. For sustainable productionSophia uses eco-power in her studio in Kassel. Together we workout fashion trends. Sophia holds trend lectures in kids fashion on fairs. In this context, she realize that there is hardly any interesting eco fashion and even fewer organic fabric producers in Germany. Since 2015, as a start-up, Sophia has set herself the task of designing and producing eco fashion for children and adults in Germany, in a balancing act between sustainability, fairtrade and innovative design. CHALLENGE: The challenge is to produce fashion for kids in a sustainable way in Germany. The german market is very hard to take. Producing in small series means low fabric orders, most producers have very high minimum order values. To find a producer with interesting organic fabrics, from Gemany in smal amount is hard. Purchasers are always looking for known brands, to have save sellings. Being new, innovative and sustainable is a long way to go in my Country. A A Design nomination wil give a huge kick start.
