| DESIGN NAME: Teanocchio PRIMARY FUNCTION: Tea infuser INSPIRATION: Teanocchio comes from puppet play, aims to change the way we prepare our drink and make teatime events more pleasurable. Adding some fun and nostalgia about old games while preparing tea, makes a joyful user experience and causes user feels he is making alive the character while drinking. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Teanocchio is a puppet shape tea infuser made of stainless steel and covered by chrome plating, designed to brings fun factor to tea infusion process and adds a delightful puppet show to tea ritual, specially for green tea that takes more time for infuser to be in hot water. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interaction happens when Teanocchio infused in tea cup which resembles a puppet show on your coffee table. There is a small groove at bottom of infuser head which allows spherical head to be filled with water flow to prevents overflow of tea from the cup edge. Hat is removable so user can wash inside the head easily. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2016 in Tehran and finished in February 2017 in Tehran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It is made of stainless steel and chrome plating operation, The wires for movement, hands and neck are galvanized steel rope and the bottom plug and hat is out of silicon. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 60 mm x depth 25 mm x Height 63 mm TAGS: Teanocchio, tea infuser, puppet, green tea RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After forming the idea, we searched about the proper character which suits our tea infuser. So characters from children stories were nominated to create sense of nostalgia in adults and to persuade them be part of the story while drinking. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was about defining a way for the spherical head to be filled with hot water to prevents over flow of tea from the cup as well as ease of wash inside the head.
