Event Promotion

INSPIRATION:
The image of shallot reveals the impression of vitality. It’s the synonym of Young, Newborn and Vigorous in Chinese. Meanwhile, Shallot has the flavor of spicy, symbolizing the brave spirit of the young directors. Hand, touching the third dimension, by interacting, pushing, backing, protecting, and supporting everyone’s achievement can be so well felt . We use this visualization to deliver a concept that the help from CFDG to the young directors is real, direct and powerful. About the details, we choose a gray color and film grain texture background as the main impression which may better relate to the event's topic.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
CFDG Young Director Support Program, under the direction of The State Admin- istration of Press,Publication,Radio,Film and Television of the People's Republic of China, is hold by China Film Directors’ Guild, gathering a great number of films of high-quality and professionals in the field to offer systematic and professional guidance for young directors. X1000 is responsible for the visual identity, including the logo, posters and extended design of a series of activities for this event.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The first draft is an image of leek and the second is a spring onion. After further communication with the holder, we find we still need to convey the integrate concept of shallot in Chinese. Thus we change the basic image into shallot in the end.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The CFDG project starred in December in Beijing China. The project contains the film fest, venture capital investment ceremony and web part.

In kind shooting, freehand sketching, vector painting.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
As the director Shaohong Li introduce, we're glad to be in charge of the CFDG visual design. We see many filmfests choose an animal image as the visual symbol. And they usually use gold and black in color. So for this time, we think we may choose some elements fresh new and remarkable.

CHALLENGE:
How to deliver a strong and effective concept for this project, at the same time make it better identified is the hardest part in the design progress. The result which as you see is the solution we finally provided.
