| DESIGN NAME: Three Sided Skinny Scarf PRIMARY FUNCTION: Scarf INSPIRATION: In 2011 I went to live abroad for six months, and amid all of the rush and excitement I didn’t take many clothes,. I found that in order to add my own personality and style I ended up stretching what was possible, with an extremely limited wardrobe and a few colourful silk scarves. It can also be a pain to have to carry around various accessories with you, so why not combine 3 scarves into one simple design that can be worn in so many different ways. These investments pieces combine 3 gorgeous designs in one and is the perfect way to ensure versatile styling. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This three sided skinny scarf has three different colour prints on each side, that can be folded in any way you choose in order to show off the desired design. This lightweight, easy-to-style scarf is a wonderful start for those who wish to experiment with different ways of wearing a touch of colour and print with their outfits. They are investments pieces that are made with the highest quality silk and seen as wearable pieces of art. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The screen art designs are designed using screen-printed art by Bianca Elgar and then converted to digital designs which are digitally printed in Macclesfield, Great Britain. Then they are finished with fine pinned hemming. The silk used and finishing is of the highest quality to ensure our customers on receive the best. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 135cm long 10cmx10cmx10cm wide TAGS: Versatile, scarf, silk, print, three sided RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The idea for the designs came when I had to pack light and keep my own clothing to a minimum. I decided on her favourite black basics, and a variety of bright scarves to dress them up with. Inspired by the opportunity of creating a variety of looks with just a few items, as well as showing off scarf prints in a new way, I decided to start my own fashion brand once back in the UK. For the 3 Sided Skinny I wanted to create a unique scarf design that was versatile and can be worn in many ways which would become an investment piece for my customers. CHALLENGE: Finding the high quality manufacturers that could keep to the luxury brand style proved to be a challenge due to my high standards of quality art. Bianca Elgar is proudly British and we work with suppliers and craftsmen from all over the country. From our silk supplier in Macclesfield to our modal jersey that is knitted and dyed in Leicester, we have sought out the best providers for our collection. All scarves are made using the highest quality silk with deep ink penetration that shows off the vivid colours and print designs on both sides of the scarf. Our items are made using the highest quality fabrics and are finished by hand. |
