| DESIGN NAME: Stick PRIMARY FUNCTION: Faucet basin INSPIRATION: Stick is designed by inspiring from branches of trees, one of the most important elements of nature.The point that is taken primarily as example is the knotted physiology of branches. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Thin and knotted character of branches is reflected on Stick's appearance.Together with this character, the color contrast between the body and handle make Stick looks uniqe and esthetic.This gives minimal and modern spaces a different atmosphere. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Stick has a thin and angular structure which makes it looks different.Beside this different appearance,Stick is used as a standard faucet.The angled positon of spout does not affect flow direction of water.The command arm works like a joystick.It turns on and off water by back and forth movement,adjusts water temperature by right and left movement. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: We started this Project in November,2015 and completed in January,2016 in Istanbul, Turkey. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Stick has one faucet spout,one joystick handle,one body to which faucet and handle are attached angular.The cartridge is inside the body.7-8 micron nickel coating is applied on the main brass material of body,spout and handle.The spout and handle are coated by 0.3 micron matte black PVD method.The body is coated by 0.3 micron matte white PVD method. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: W:132,6mm x D:122,5mm x H:249mm Weight of Stick: app. 1,7 kg TAGS: tree, branch, minimal, modern, contrast, asymmetry, faucet RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We believe that there are two main types of users; who like standard and who like different.Users who prefer unique outlooking for their living quarters wants details in there to be unique and different,too. We designed the faucet,Stick,for people who love reflecting their styles with objects they have.
