Interview with Mehmet Savas at Wednesday 20th of April 2016

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
MS: Everything started with the idea to do a different faucet.And we look at nature.We have seen that branches off from the water drops.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
MS: The focal point was the anatomy of the branch.For to design a different body

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
MS: I want to design a reality.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
MS: about 3 months

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
MS: I know that nature is diverse and unique.And that inspires me

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
MS: Yes,I want that.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
MS: Users who prefer unique outlooking for their living quarters wants details in there to be unique and different,too. We designed the faucet,Stick,for people who love reflecting their styles with objects they have.

FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work?
MS: when I was make steps of the design.My team member was help to me.Thanks so much for her.

FS: Who is the target customer for his design?
MS: interior architects

FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
MS: Thin and knotted character of branches is reflected on Stick's appearance.Together with this character, the color contrast between the body and handle make Stick looks uniqe and esthetic.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
MS: name appeared from thin tree branch

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
MS: only pencil and paper for to sketch stage,than use the 3d programs

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
MS: spout and joystick format

FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills?
MS: I met with some battery manufacturers for technical details.

FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design?
MS: stick featured product with a different format

FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?
MS: Users who prefer unique outlooking for their living quarters wants details in there to be unique and different,too. We designed the faucet,Stick,for people who love reflecting their styles with objects they have..

FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
MS: we want to be all faucet body of thinner character. Because of the standard cartridge sizes.Body shape has changed.

FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition?
MS: The most prestigious international A'Design award competition organization, we wanted to prove that we believe in the value of design.

FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
MS: we have examined the award-winning products.While designing and from them he learned many details
