DESIGN NAME: Hankook Coffee
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Poster and Postcard
INSPIRATION: Nowadays, coffee is one of the highest consumed beverages that is indispensable to this world. I had two questions in my mind: How much do people know about coffee beans? How much do they know about the coffee they drink? Most people probably do not know much. I wanted to get the answers to these questions through this project.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Hankook Coffee is a company selling coffee in the Korean market from 1992. To represent the top seven percent of a-grade, I visualized coffee in Diagram using the form of coffee drops. In addition, these posters and postcards are showing in what way Hankook Coffee picks out, imports, processes the level-best grade coffee beans by directly visiting a coffee plantation to provide coffee to Korean consumers, and what sorts of coffee of diverse flavors Hankook Coffee is dealing with.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Through this project, many consumers showed interest to the distribution process of coffee beans at the Coffee Show 2015.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project participated in and was launched at the Coffee Show 2015 hosted by Seoul Cafe Show which is held annually in Korea, and even in the present 2016, this project is being used as a promotional material for sales presentation.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project focused on researching and analyzing all information covering from the process of cultivation and production of coffee beans to transportation, roasting, and distribution process to consumers.
CHALLENGE: The overall design challenge of this project might be how to give the consumers who don’t have much knowledge of coffee to easily understand how coffee beans are cultivated, selected and produced to be distributed to consumers by unravelling every aspect visually through this project. In addition, this process should be shown without any lie and omission, so we had to represent it persuasively and visually with more deliberation.
