PRIMARY FUNCTION: Dosa Machine
INSPIRATION: The idea is to develop a dosa making machine which can make dosa by doing mimicry of handmade dosa process and satisfy people psychology that handmade dosa are tasty and good rather than machine can make. Currently there is no option available of advanced UX and UI based graphical HMI with microprocessor in standard available dosa machines. The cost effective solution with empathic interface and with out of league look and feel can be created to serve as an efficient option for dosa making
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Motion H is a dosa making machine which do motion mimicry of handmade dosa process. The internal mechanisms do replicate motion of manual hand making dose process and can give same shape, texture and taste of manual handmade process do. With 7" TFT colour HMI display & enhanced UX and UI with microprocessor based custom programming, it can control dosa type, size, thickness, amount of oil, water and batter, type of batter. Pre preparation, operation and maintenance of the machine is very easy.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The user will get ready with the required amount of oil, water and batter. From HMI colour display graphic user will select the process parameters like amount of oil water and batter, dosa type size and thickness etc., Motion H dosa making machine do motion mimicry of handmade dosa process and generate the same shape, texture and taste as can be generated by manual handmade process. After the use it is very easy to clean and maintain entire machine with removable oil, water and batter container.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Sheet metal forming process and standard fabrication process. Main body is made of food grade SS and MS sheet with L-section, C-section and pipe section. The motion mechanism gives the mimicry of the hand motion of dosa making process and the process parameters can be controlled by custom made electronics and drives with the input from HMI. Entire assembly is very much modular having ease of maintenance and transport.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Overall dimension 700 mm x 450 mm x 300 mm and 80 Kg weight. 7" TFT colour HMI display with enhanced UX and UI graphic screen with microprocessor based custom programming it control all dosa making process parameters like dosa type, size, thickness, amount of oil, water and batter, type of batter.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Dosa is a fermented crepe made from rice batter and black lentils. In dosa making process the better is spread on non stick hot plate as per required type, size and thickness of dosa. Water and oil are spread on and around the batter and any toppings are added as per requirement. If machine can does mimicry of the hand motion with same amount of ingredients with smart control of process parameters as well as heating time, the same quality of dosa can be made as if given by handmade process.
CHALLENGE: To generate a mechanism for batter, water and oil spreading which can do mimicry of hand motion of dosa making. To generate a cost effective mechanical solution that gives same shape, texture and taste as can be generated by manual handmade dosa making process. To control the process parameters like amount of oil, water and batter, dosa type size and thickness with the help of HMI. To create international look & feel. To create modular assembly that can be easy to clean, maintain and transport.
