The problem targeted by the design is to provide for shortening the production processes and for the end-user to be able to make the assembly without feeling the need for any tools and materials. On the other hand, thanks to the modular pieces, users can personalize the furniture by making the combinations that they want.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The design includes the users in the design process and thanks to the conical foot shape, it can be assembled without feeling the need for any tools and materials. Thanks to the slots on the working and storage modules, it can be fixed by tightening when they reach their positions. The working surfaces are modules and composed of compact laminated units with drawers that have been assembled previously and different combinations can be made depending on the need.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Thanks to the modular elements, it is a piece of furniture that can be personalized by the users. There is no need for any tools, materials or assembly proficiency during assembly. The slots on the modules are attached to the feet and the furniture is secured. The design can be updated by changing the places and number of modules when the user wants to do it.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The modules and the drawers within them will be manufactured with the known furniture production techniques and will be delivered pre-assembled to the users. There will not be a need for assembly proficiency, since the parts will be assembled with the slots on the modules. Compact laminate materials were used in the work and storage modules due to the thin sections and durability. Thanks to this, it would also prevent the problems of deformation stemming from humidity, especially during overseas exports. Whereas, aluminum profiles were used for the feet.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The design is composed of pre-assembled flat modules and two feet. The measurements of the design are 1150 mm in width x 590 mm in depth x 1150 mm in height. Whereas, the measurements of the packed box are 1200 mm in width x 600 mm in depth x 1200 mm in height. It is suitable for the international transport standards.

The problems experienced in the furniture production and assembly processes are the cause of a decrease in export opportunities and of costs being high. On the other hand, the acceptances of products in which the users could be included in the design process would make it possible for the products to be used easily and for a long period of time. This design also brings proposals for solutions on both subjects, which are stated above. First of all, the length of the operating processes of unassembled furniture during production harbors many problems from the aspect of the need for experts and long lifespan during assembly. The modules have been assembled beforehand in this proposed office furniture. Thanks to this, the production and packaging processes are short. Furthermore, there is no need for any proficiency, tools and materials for assembly. It is easy to attach the feet, thanks to the openings on the modules. Whereas, second of all, the end-user can design as he/she likes the office desk according to his/her needs and esthetic preferences, thanks to the modular system. The number, direction and place of modules can be changed easily at any moment. Thanks to this, the user has been included in the design process. In summary, it provides easy and flexibility in all phases by starting from the production process of this design up until the moment of use. The design can be assembled without feeling the need for any tools and materials.
One of the most important problems in the furniture of today is the fact that the materials used in the traditional furniture production become deformed in a very short period of time during assembly and disassembly. Compact laminated boards were used in the design that are thinner, but stronger. Thanks to these, furniture that is better, stronger and especially resistant to humidity was created. However, sustainable equipment has not yet been developed for the disassembly of compact laminates. The assembly of the modules during production eliminates this problem. Whereas, slots were opened on the modules for eliminating the assembly proficiency and for preventing the deformation that emerges during disassembly. The assembly of the design is made through these slots.
