DESIGN NAME:
Our Scale

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
"Measurement sistem"

INSPIRATION:
Architecture, Vitruvio, Le Corbusie, modulor, scale, functionality, projects, human, women, differences, curves, men, desing. Based on the proportion and creativity. We return to the old ideal of establishing a direct relationship between the proportions of buildings and man, such as Le Corbusie.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Measurement system based on the proportions of buildings, human & candleholde (anthropomorphist). It plays an important role in industrial design and architecture where statistical data about the distribution of body dimensions in the population are used to optimize final products and projects. It's a way of measuring scale in projects, man&woman. 1/1 scale, man is 1.90m, woman 1.75m used to calculate the scale & proportion in project & sculpture. 100/1 scale, skyscraper.1/10 scale, candleholder

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
It's formed by man and woman: What makes a man?. There are certain vital characteristics that appear in almost every male. Whatever the manifestations of these may be, they're truly what make a man what he is. For that reason "our scale" man is mobile, depending on the condition. Each floor or each part of the man or candleholder can be rotated 360 What makes woman? The world goes ahead because of her constant, love and organization. The woman figure is fixed, with curves and very strong.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The proyect started in September 2011 in Zurich and finished in March 2012 in Madrid, and was exhibited in sala Green, Madrid in December 2012, in Hipodromo de la Zarzuela, Madrid in May 2012, Sala Hoyo 19, Madrid December 2013....

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Furniture, Decorative Items and Homeware Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Our Scale is made with Steel or wood. Also like a drawing in a project to know the scale. Stainless steel is hard to work with, but its rewards make it worthwhile. Attack each fabrication step with the correct tools and techniques. Wood is a plant. The crownof the tree is supported by the stem, which must resist the force from the weight of the branches and leaves. And the two most important functions are support and conduction. Easy to work with.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Our scale It has three different scales depending on use. 1/1 scale, man is 1,90 m and woman 1,75 m (used to calculate the scale and proportion in a project. In the real world a sculpture of a man and a women) 100/1 scale, 190 m man and 175 m women, a skyscraper . 1/10 scale, 19 cms man, 17,5 cms woman, a candleholder.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Starts with Vitruvius. Da Vinci tried to take these ideas further, and spent much of his life searching for connections between the structure of the human body, and other patterns in nature. In his notes, he proclaimed that "Man is the model of the world."body, and other patterns in nature. "Man is the model of the world." Di Giorgio, C. Cesariano , A. Durer , Di Giacomo, H. Lautensack , W. Blake, Perrault ...Le Courbusie.

CHALLENGE:
The introduction of the meter in the 19th century reinforced the departure from the idea that the man was the measure of all things.Meter and the decimal measuring system replaced the anthropomorphic and the duodecimal system in Europe. Human body was compared to buildings and their parts, anthropomorphism kept loosing importance. Le Corbusier accused the meter of being abstract. Our Scale is the study of years is for showing the anthropomorphism in architecture, projects and in a Arts and Craft
