| DESIGN NAME: Residence of Tzeng PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: Born in this world, humans co-exist with all beings and produce sensory perception for events due to the different environment, thereby activating the emotions to derive memories. Space grants perception to people through the environment and develops the memories for things as time passes. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: There’s a sense of beauty was unrefined and often ignored that experienced the imprint of age,heat of sunlight and the dripping of rain. As time goes by,a primary aesthetic scenery was unrevealed and created by the carving of nature,simple,yet ignored. By applying the same perspective to this space site,the texture of architecture concrete slate was represented directly by showing the original craftsmanship. The construction marks on the wall were preserved and then became a trace of history that brings out rich layers of light gradients by the variation of seasons. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: From the exterior to the interior space, we applied the minimum of walls to maintain the circulation of air and try to maximize space capacious that corresponded to the exterior. As for our approach to the interior space planning, instead of applying the stereotype of being framed by the walls, we chose to follow the original site frame and forming a traffic flow that showcasing a life style that brings human being and nature even closer. Therefore, our design goal in this case was achieved by returning to the simplest and purest beauty. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in 2014 in Taiwan - Hsinchu city. Nonetheless the nature of space also evolves with the environment, time and humanities, generating diversity in user scenarios. We explore into the emotions of people triggered by the environment, analyzing the possibility of infinite extension of emotional connections and memories. When memories linger as time passes, the visual narration of space derived from the materials denote the significance of essence existing for every articles and views of the interior design. NAME: X-Line Design Co ., Ltd. PROFILE: X-Line Design Co., Ltd., established in 2005 as X-Line Design Studio, set up Shen Chih Chung Union Design Co., Ltd. in 2013. Both the director and the chairman, Chih Chung, Shen (Ron Shen) was graduated from Chelsea College of Art and Design of University of the Arts London. He won TID award (gold award) in 2008, 2011, 2012, and 2014, Germany IF design award in 2011 and 2013, U.S.A. IDA silver award in 2014, IAI ASIA Pacific Interior Design Awards in 2009 and 2012, and Britain FX award in 2011. X-Line Design Co., Ltd. is involved mainly in space design, including building space, commercial space, and residential space, with the concept of "linear stretch" to explore the essence of space, to discover the interaction between spaces (boundary and fuzz, mass and penetration), and to investigate the constancy between perception and space. |
