| DESIGN NAME: Guy Ritchie PRIMARY FUNCTION: Film Collection INSPIRATION: The motivation of this work was the challenge to reflect the deep ironies in Guy Ritchie's work to a poster design. After carefully analyzing the movies thoroughly, I started charcoal sketches in order to quickly create a simple and rough design emphasizing the ascendant feeling. As a young designer, this primitive method had an important overall impact on my style. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The focus of this poster series is, not the actors and actresses nor the characteristic scenes the director is known for, but instead the source of the director's inspiration, discourses and style that he wants to emphasize in his work. As an example, the main concern for the poster of the movie Swept Away, is the a criticism regarding the gender perception instead of the actress Madonna. The focus in all other illustrations is emphasized similarly through the choice of color and style. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This project was designed as a senior project in Graphic Design department. Every week for 4 moths, i got feedback from Department Instructions. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2012 and finished in July 2012 in Ankara, and was exhibited in Bilkent University Graphic Design Department Graduation exhibition. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: I used charcoal sketches in order to quickly create a simple and rough design emphasizing the ascendant feeling. After digital retouching, posters were printed to matte poster papers. On the other hand, craft papers and natural woods were chosen for cd covers and it's case. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Poster Dimensions: 500 mm x 700 mm printed matte poster papers. Cd Covers: 133 mm x 8 mm x 187 mm printed craft papers and binded. Film collection wood case: 140mm x 195mm x 74mm branding applied with laser engraving.
