| DESIGN NAME: Spin PRIMARY FUNCTION: Suspended Luminairy INSPIRATION: Minimalistic aesthetic, rotation-shaped inspirations and a drop fall. We have looked for a essential lighting fixture, discrete but attractive. The sensation of lightness and consistency, beside with an aerial floatability, was other of the project's key points. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Spin, designed by Ruben Saldana, is a suspended LED luminary for accent lighting. The minimum expression of its essential lines, its rotation geometry and its shape -which stems from its function-, give Spin its beautiful and harmonious design. Its body, entirely manufactured in aluminium, confers lightness and consistency, whilst acting as a heat sink. Its flush-mounted ceiling base and its ultra-thin tensor generates a sensation of aerial floatability. Available in black and white texturized finishes. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Spin is the perfect light fitting to be placed in bars, counters, showcases... Its discreteness and elegance enables Spin to be included in any interior design providing its attractive beauty without any aesthetic disruptive intrusion. Furthermore, Spin's lighting performance gets the best light-quality and color-rendering, aimed at fulfilling the requirements of the most demanding lighting designers. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Design project started at 2014 beginnings. It was entirely developed by Ruben Saldana (Arkoslight's head of in-house design) during that year. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Widht & Depth 75mm diam. / Height 185mm / Tensor 2000 - 3000 mm TAGS: LED, Suspension Luminary, Pendand Lamp, Accent Lighting, Indoor Lighting, Retail Lighting, Lighting, LED lighting RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We research the aesthetic trends in interior design main stakeholders, such as decorating magazines, journals in design, etc. Our goal was to get the aesthetic trends and transform them into design values to apply to our new luminaire. Our methodology was to observing market and competitors, systematization of findings, and interpretation of the results to synthesize the design guidelines. Also, we sought the integration of design and electronics for a perfect combination of functionality, aesthetics and performance. CHALLENGE: Our goal was achieve the perfect melt between elegance, discreteness and the high-standard established by Arkoslight related to the technical lighting performance of its products.
