| DESIGN NAME: Bonsai PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric radiator heater INSPIRATION: The Main inspiration comes from Japanese trees specially those which are manipulated and called Bonsai. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bonsai is an electric oil filled radiator which is specifically designed for decorative purposes at home and brings Sense of Japanese garden to home. It changes the usual shapes of wall or floor mounted radiators and offers a sculpted radiator which can be used beside the wall or next to furniture as an elegant stuff in places like hall, bedroom, bathroom, etc. Wet towels or clothes can be put on Bonsai's hot plates to get dried also. It can be controlled via a remote control. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The key point is design something more than just a heating system. An element which can be part of home decoration. User can turn on/off or changes temperature wirelessly via a remote control. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The radiator is made of stainless steel type 316 (Anti-oxidation and anti-acid. It can be made by injection molding in separate parts. Each plate consists of 2 flat hemisphere which are welded to each other vertically. Branches are made the same way in two pieces and finally plate and branches will be welded to each other to form a unique shape. Chrome plating will be done in the last stage. A pump for oil is placed at bottom of the radiator. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 110 cm height x 90 cm width . The biggest plate diameter is 32 cm and the smallest is 20 cm. Product should fulfill both practical aspect along aesthetic aspect . This concept relates to emotions and can make feelings in people even when is not in use. CHALLENGE: the main challenge was How this product can be made? Also how steel pieces must be molded for oil circulation without the need to place additional external pipes inside the radiator.
