| DESIGN NAME: Sistem PRIMARY FUNCTION: Range Pole and Tripod INSPIRATION: The low quality and performance of the existing products lead to the design of this new line of range pole and tripod products. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Range pole that is frequently used in engineering application areas especially civil engineering, is a measuring set to calculate the dimension and alignment with the help of red and white metal pipe. To make embedding the range pole to surface, a sharp edge is jointed the metal pipe. A water gage is joined the range pole enable to more sensitive measurements. Sistem range pole can be produced more easily and cheaper than range poles in the market which are produced ordinary production methods. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The products are collapsible through folding or telescopic mechanisms. During the measurement and use, range pole is used along with the tripod for an accurate performance. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed in October 2014 in Ankara. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The mechanism which is provide to lengthen the tool for different requirements, is produced with both extrusion and injection methods. Due to this contemporary design and production approach the product is not just being cheaper but also more durable. Used materials are as following: extruded aluminum, lathed aluminum, injected carbon fiber. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: With the help of the same approach range pole tripod that is provide to measure the dimensions without any mistakes, is designed for able to produce with more reasonable methods. The tap mechanism of range pole tripod is produced from lathe. Moreover, plastic joints that link the tap metal part and metal legs are independent from each other. So if one of them broken user do not need to change all of them. Because of in the hard field conditions it is not too easy to grasp and arrange it, the buttons which are adjust the length of legs, are designed can fit the hand and easily pushed. TAGS: Range pole, tripod, production technology, easy to produce RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research data was obtained from the field workers and specialist that use these products in their daily operations. CHALLENGE: The design challenge faced during the project was the achievement of high precision mechanisms, materials and finishing within the same design language.
