| DESIGN NAME: Education Currency PRIMARY FUNCTION: Credit Hours INSPIRATION: Through work in banking sector , I observed that clients save a lot of money in high return investment product to enable their children to get high education . As Education is the highest ever return long-term investment due to its effect in shifting people lives culturally , financially and socially all over the world , that’s why I figured out using credit hours in a structured loyalty program applied through co-brand bank card platform sponsored between bank and education institution with profit share scheme to achieve balance in benefits to bank, education institution and cardholders UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: loyalty program sponsored between bank and education institution that give rewards as learning hours rights that accumulated to credit hours rights , given to the cardholder with his spending by card , these accumulated credit hours rights will be redeemed when he take education course at this partner education institution , In return for given credit hours rights , the bank will make profit share agreement with this institution , the product depend on new currencies , the learning and credit hours rights beside it incorporate profit share scheme between bank and education institution OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The person subscribe at this loyalty program sponsored between issuer bank and partner education institution , will go through phases in exact order , registration and getting membership account and ID , opening bank account and getting co-brand card , purchasing at pos terminals and earning rewards , Accumulating learning and credit hours rights , redeeming accumulated credit hours rights and getting education course right from partner education institution . Effecting profit share agreement signed between bank and education institution through batch invoice and electronic fund transfer PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February , 2014 and finished in january , 2015 in Egypt |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Through experience in banking , I observed the customers need to save to cover education expenses for their children, I used brain storming and figured out the use of credit hours in a co-brand bank card loyalty program and began research about education systems in European countries and USA that apply the credit hours system beside bank cards industry and different loyalty programs, I research patents at US and European patents database about loyalty programs computer systems applied through co-brand bank platform ,I found one and build on it till I reach the final project form SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Any type of Bank cards ,Pos terminal including banking cards reader ,credit hours rights Loyalty program software integrated to pos software , Credit hours rights loyalty program administration system with its servers whether operated by issuer bank , partner education institution or both or by outside loyalty programs management company , loyalty program registration and rewards balance checker interface whether at the issuer bank , partner education institution web site or both or loyalty program management company website . NAME: Youssef Abdel Zaher PROFILE: Youssef Abdel Zaher is an Egyptian banker who had graduated in 2005 from faculty of commerce with major Accounting , English section at Ain shams university located at Egypt , then he began his post graduate studies by applying to the CFA program at the American university of cairo at 2005 , he passed 2 levels at this program and plans to complete level 3 by the near term . During his professional career , He worked at three banks in Egypt and Qatar , Bnp Paribas Bank , Qatar Islamic Bank and finally at Qnb Al Ahly bank with more than 5 years mix of experience between corporate and retail banking , his current position is relationship manager , banky market at Qnb AL Ahly bank in Egypt . He dream about Developing creative untraditional banking products whether it is retail or corporate that cover people or companies financial needs around the world .He began trying to achieve this dream by participating at A design award competition . |
