DESIGN NAME: Celloridoo
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Composite musical instrument
INSPIRATION: Didgeridoo is an old instrument that is not notable, so many musicians need to use it with a notable instrument. this instrument solve that problem therefor you can use a wind instrument which is not notable and fill your music with a melody with a chordophone by a bow.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a new musical instrument which is composed of violoncello, a bowed string chordophone, and Didgeridoo , an Australian simple aerophone.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The aerophone part of Celloridoo is played with continuously vibrating lips to produce the drone while using a special breathing technique called circular breathing. This requires breathing in through the nose whilst simultaneously expelling stored air out of the mouth using the tongue and cheeks.
The chordophone part is played whit a bow.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The designing process started in July 2014 and finished in October 2014 in Tehran.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: According to the Maslow's hierarchy of needs, the Self-actualization is at the top of it and this level of need refers to what a person's full potential is and the realization of that potential.
famously described by Abraham Maslow: "A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately happy. What a man can be, he must be. This need we may call self-actualization."
Therefore designing a new composite musical instrument for the creative people who are talented in music is necessary to help these people make more creative musics individually and to involve them spiritually this instrument must be acoustic one not digital such as keyboards.
One of the possible ways to compose musical instruments whit these features is composing a chordophone with an aerophone, and it is done in designing of the "Celloridoo".
CHALLENGE: In Celloridoo an aerophone which is Didgeridoo is composed with a bowed chordophone which is something like a cello.
So a chordophone needs a peg box, a neck and a resonance box, and a Didgeridoo needs a pipe and a mouthpiece so the pipe under the mouthpiece became to peg box and neck to install finger board on int and the lowest part of it became to a resonance box to instal bridges, holes and keep the strings.
