Interview with Aidin Ardjomandi at Wednesday 29th of April 2015 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? AA: I play Guitar, Didgeridoo and flute, I alway felt that I need someone else for a duet and it is hard to find another musician whenever you want. So I concerned to design a composite musical instrument. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? AA: Ergonomy and acoustic was the most important part of this design and aesthetics was in the second place. I tried to solve the sound problems whit a acoustic physicist and solving the ergonomic problems by working on a primitive prototype. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? AA: I negotiated with 2 sponsors but after that I decided to produce it for my own company and I think that it will be unveiling on November 2015 in Tehran. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? AA: About 16 month. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? AA: It was one of my personal preoccupation. Working on musical instruments to make a new one or upgrade existing ones is a long way that I start it now. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? AA: I am going to produce it for my own company. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? AA: Merging the excitement of Design and Music. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? AA: 2 Physicists helped my during this project and now I am hopeful to convince Dr. Arjang Naji , the best acoustic physicist in Iran to help me improve it. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? AA: Obviously, creative musicians! FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? AA: This concept, I mean compositing a Aerophone with a Chordophone can make many kinds of new instrument and it is one of its first models. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? AA: Cello from violin Cello and ridoo from Didgeridoo! FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? AA: It has been designed and rendered by 3Ds Max and Vray rendering motor.
