| DESIGN NAME: PIXO PRIMARY FUNCTION: Digital Watch INSPIRATION: PIXO is a digital watch inspired from the "rolling numbers" of the mechanical clock in 70's. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The concept is about to "digitalise&quo OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The watch function includes: Time mode, World time, Stopwatch, 2 Alarm, Hourly chime and Timer. Turn the crown to change the mode, press the crown can trigger the EL backlight. Press and hold the crown to set the time, alarm, world time or reset the stopwatch in related mode. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: the project started in Hong Kong for 10 months ago. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The watch case is consisted of the stainless steel body and top ring, and it can be colored by ion-plating. It can be matched with colorful rubber strap in order to make a collection for most people's preference. The digital module is with full dot-matrix LCD and EL backlight panel, and it is enclosed in a compact steel case with 50M water resistant construction. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The watch case : W46 x L52 x D15 mm, The strap width : 22 mm, The whole watch (with strap) length : 260 mm TAGS: watch, digital, PIXO, fashion RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: The critical part of the design process is to finalise the digital module. It included the detailed operation flow design of the program (software) and the compact size of the module (hardware). And the construction of the watch case is also required to be as slim and compact as possible, and is able to provide 50M water resistance.
