| DESIGN NAME: Risky Shop PRIMARY FUNCTION: Boutique & Showroom INSPIRATION: Antonina & Klara - owners of risk madeinwarsaw brand actually were my inspiration in creating up side down showroom. They totaly turned thinking about setting up business, changed direction of fashion, switched way of cooperation with partners such us my design studio. Synergy of their point of view and smallna independent creation was a clue. We combained extraordinary fashion clothes with unique vintage collection in unexpected way. That is why it is up side down. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We dreamed about showroom which is as out-of-the-box as Risk.MadeInWarsaw - fashion brand run by Antonina and Klara. It takes the ordinary and turns it upside down. The ceiling is arranged against all the rules, even the gravity. We placed shop in small appartment so we had to rethink the space expanding it visually. We used rare pieces from smallna collection and compose them with melange sophisticated grey hoodies. It lights up the interior while exhibiting pure vintage and back to the roots OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Anti-gravity story tries to change your perception. Stone Baloons art installation enables them to fly both directions. Glass table reflects the risky collection from the top, ties of the snickers go down toward ceiling with turned gravity. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Risky shop started in March 2012 in heart of Warsaw. It was shown on tens design sites and printed in design magazines even on Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Exposition of risky clothes is made of composition of steel pipes that go around whole the showroom. Some of them fly in the sky, painted on the wall by polish artist Dariusz Fiet, some of them are attached to the wall fully covered with risky fabric, other pipes go from ceiling to wall and can be used both direction, that makes illusion up side down showroom. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: It is not common to run shop witout vitrine. You must know girls' "like in home" place to get there. 80 sqm showroom and shop is situated in the apartment on the second floor. Exhibition space is doubled because of using ceiling as an area for presentig vintage furniture. Conference area lightened by set of chrome lights from 50's-80's. One of a kind VIP coffee nook furnished with rare LaFonda stone coffee table from 60's or Japan, Italian and German modernist pieces reflected by street lights active installation. TAGS: fashion, design, art installation, clothing RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Balancing between differend disciplines such as fashion, art and design provides unique performance. Ideas of risky girls plus concept and perfect realisation of smallna team made this place one of kind showroom. There is more than 150 models of hot clothing pieces, well shaped and cut, same to showroom - tailor made display. It is a connection of the latest solutions and roots of fashion and design. No other brand is lightened by light from american train from 40s or tramway lamp from 60s CHALLENGE: One of the challenges was to hang risky room furnished with sofa, chair, table and lamp up side down. Everything was connected in minimalistic way with no visble joints, hingers or screws. Crazy thing was to make hanger in the shape of "risk" name. Another difficult target was to make cloak room from grey risky fabic that can be seen either from standard or switched point of view. Attaching welded pipes to the soft wall covered with fabric could burn it all. NAME: Risky Shop powered by smallna PROFILE: RISK made in warsaw was founded in 2011 by Antonina Samecka and Klara Kowtun - the two co-owners, all of love for grey hoodie and good tailoring. The company has quickly evolved into a recognizable polish urbanwear brand. Following the womenswear success, gradually menswear, kids and home lines have been launched. The starting point is always a grey hoodie - the twenty-first-century classic, the symbol of effortless style and comfort. It is reinvented each season to produce collections, which maintain the freedom of the sweatsuit and simultaneously, perfectly model the silhouette. All the models are precisely tailored to fit as well as catwalk classics, yet, remain as comfy as your oldest, sloppiest tracksuit... a tracksuit couture. The cuts are simple but very effective - they are carefully thought out to elicit the most alluring parts of your body. Antonina and Klara always invite real people, their customers, to the photo shoots to emphasize that risky clothes work for everyone. Risky REAL PEOPLE attach a great importance to the flawless, elegant look but they also want to feel confident and cool to survive in the modern urban jungle. Antonina and Klara are always open to discussions on the products, whether online or in their showroom at Szpitalna Street. They also create tailor-made pieces. |
