DESIGN NAME: Domescape
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interactive Installation for Children
INSPIRATION: A child's inquisitive nature
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is an installation commisioned by the National Museum of Singapore for Children's Season and is designed as a playground with 3 big telescope. These telescopes tap on a child's natural inquisitive nature to look through a telescope. Each telescope is angled at a specific urban object in the city and with graphics added to the lens , allows the children to see our city in a different light. The hope of this installation is to encourage the children to think beyond what they see and to let what they observe in the city be a base for further imagination. The red undulating landscape forms a long strip of playground that the the children meanders along.
