surprise, black and white, opposites,
Although this project is called sensei, and one could easily finds it´s connection to the ying and yang symbol, it´s form was not in any way inspired in these symbols. Like most of my projects, it starts by just drawing random geometric shapes, later decomposing them until an idea comes up. In this case, it was merely a concidence that the formal resolution of the problem solved with this furniture is so much alike the ying and yang symbol. Originaly, the shape of the backs of the chairs were with rounded edges (pipe bending). However, i wanted to make such an abstract project in which all forms were reduced to planes and lines. I think the result was favorable. Something as abstract ans simple as black and white.
