| DESIGN NAME: GlassOn PRIMARY FUNCTION: 40" LED TV INSPIRATION: Graceful reflections on the glass and metal surfaces evoked the design idea. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It's a frameless design collection with different design solutions in variable sizes with glass element. Design elegance created with the transparency of glass continues through metal finishes encircling the display in big sizes. Without the accustomed plastic front cover and bezel, design relates through the virtual world and the audience with drastically reduced thickness in 40", 46" and 55" products. The whole metal frame holding the glass front enhances the design quality. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Aluminium moulding and aluminium extrusion process used for producing the frame which covers the display. Front glass is specially coated with nanotechnologic processes to prevent unwanted reflections and refractions. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 956 mm x 39 mm x 640 mm TAGS: transparency, glass, grace, sleek, neat RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: High technology needed to coat the glass to prevent reflections and refractions when put in front of the display. Precisions between the parts of frame made by different techniques are the most challenging problem at the production phase.
