DESIGN NAME: DUSITANON
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence
INSPIRATION: The project was inspired by the challenge of designing an urban residence that balances privacy, security, and architectural distinction while harmonizing with its dynamic surroundings.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Baan Dusitanon is a four-story residence with a mezzanine level, enveloped by a distinctive façade, located in the heart of the city. Given its urban setting, the surrounding environment is bustling with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
The primary design objective was to create a sense of privacy for the residents while maintaining a seamless connection to the city. The building’s vertically aligned and subtly twisted façade panels act as a visual screen, shielding the interior from external views without creating a sense of confinement. This design allows residents to enjoy unobstructed views of the surroundings while ensuring privacy.
Beyond aesthetics, the façade serves as a thermal buffer, reducing direct heat exposure to the main structure. The space between the façade and the building itself accommodates greenery and landscaped areas, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
The interior layout is divided into two primary zones:
• The front section of each floor serves as a semi-private living area, fostering interaction and openness.
• The rear section is dedicated to private bedrooms, ensuring tranquility for the residents.
On the fourth floor, a double-height living space provides an expansive view of the cityscape, enhancing the sense of openness within the residence.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: -
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The façade is designed with privacy and functionality in mind, featuring vertically aligned angled louvers that effectively block external views. This vertical arrangement minimizes dust accumulation and water retention on the surface.
Constructed from high-strength aluminum, the louvers have an elliptical profile with tapered edges for durability and a sleek appearance. The supporting framework is discreetly hidden within the elliptical profiles, maintaining a clean and seamless exterior aesthetic
