DESIGN NAME: Tia Lifechart
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Medical App
INSPIRATION: Tia Life Chart was born out of a critical need to redefine how EMRs serve both providers and patients in integrative women’s healthcare. Traditional electronic medical record apps are rigid, burdensome, and fail to support holistic, patient-centered care. Our design was inspired by seamless digital experiences outside of healthcare—intuitive, efficient, and data-driven. We leveraged user research, clinical workflows, and automation to build an EMR that enhances provider efficiency and patient outcomes.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Tia Life Chart is a patient-centric electronic medical record app designed to streamline care coordination, enhance provider efficiency, and improve patient outcomes. It reduces care plan documentation by 44%, automates 81% of booking links, and increases patient engagement. With an intuitive user interface, AI-powered insights, and seamless integration into clinical workflows, Tia Life Chart empowers providers to make faster decisions, reduces administrative burden, and supports a holistic, team-based approach to care.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Tia Life Chart is designed for seamless provider interaction, reducing cognitive load while ensuring intuitive navigation. Providers can quickly access patient records, track lab results, document care plans, and automate appointment bookings—all within a clean, structured interface. AI-powered insights highlight urgent issues, while smart automation streamlines repetitive tasks, significantly reducing documentation time and improving patient outcomes.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Jan 2024 as an ongoing project.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Tia Life Chart was developed using a human-centered design approach, incorporating extensive provider interviews, workflow observations, and usability testing. We conducted clinical shadowing sessions and analyzed over 1000 provider interactions to identify pain points in existing EMR systems. Research findings guided the development of automated workflows, AI-driven insights, and an intuitive UI, resulting in a 44 percent reduction in documentation time and an 81 percent automation rate in care plan booking links, significantly enhancing provider efficiency and patient engagement.
CHALLENGE: One of the biggest challenges in designing TLC was redefining the rigid and fragmented structure of traditional EMRs to create a system that truly supports integrative women’s healthcare. Balancing clinical accuracy, provider efficiency, and regulatory compliance required deep research into healthcare workflows, usability testing, and iterative prototyping. Overcoming provider resistance to change and ensuring seamless adoption were critical hurdles we tackled through extensive training and feedback loops.
