DESIGN NAME: Eastroc Amla Juice
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beverage Packaging
INSPIRATION: The packaging design is a crucial part of the design clearly informing consumers of the fact that the product contains real and high content of Amla Juice. The design team has proposed loading 20, 26, and 88 fruits that match different volumes in order to quantify the number of Amla fruits used. This way enhances consumers' awareness of the high content of Amla Juice and creates a strong motive for purchase.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project relates to the packaging design of an Amla juice. Amla is known for its benefits of cleansing palate and promoting digestion. The package is visually dominated by Morandi green. The fusion of the natural fruit green of Amla is perceived fresh and comfortable, creates a visual implication of "no burden on stomach after having a big meal". The use of three dots arranged continuously forms a super lace, which is applied on the bottleneck and carton to extend the shelf space visually. The continuous Amla image symbols are staggered to draw attention and highlight the high juice content of Amla Juice.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The fresh visual effect of the packaging enhances the communication of the product benefits to the consumer, offering a full set of comprehensive visual feelings. When it comes to interactive experience, user can either unscrew the cap and consume the product directly or pour it into a glass. In order to preserve the flavor and benefits of the product for future drinking, it is essential for the user to securely screw the cap after each use.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The packaging design project kicked off in Guangzhou in December 2022 and successfully wrapped up in March 2023 after three months of working on it. Subsequently, it was officially released to the public in June 2023 in Guangzhou.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The drink is packaged in a simple cylindrical PET bottle with a fully covered label design. The label paper is printed with eco-friendly ink to prioritize environmental protection. The use of flexographic printing ensures that the label pattern is presented clearly and vividly, creating a soft and comfortable color effect. Additionally, the package design features a large area of matte oil and partial varnish finish to enhance the overall intimacy of the product.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Distinctive visual elements play a crucial role in readily identifying brand and leaving a deep impression. In this particular design, the designer used enlarged, staggered combination pictures of three Amla fruits as a visual hammer for identification purpose. This was transformed into a decorative pattern of three dots with lace extending to the bottle top area, in order to deepen the consumer's memory of the product.
CHALLENGE: Choosing the main color tone of the packaging is a critical and challenging task, as it directly influences the initial impression and overall ambiance conveyed by the product. The natural fruity green color of Amla perfectly exhibits the benefits of this beverage in cleansing the palate and promoting digestion. That’s why the designer had to ensure that the chosen color would not intervene or overshadow the natural green hue of Amla and took appropriate design techniques to highlight this color effectively when deciding on the color scheme.
