| DESIGN NAME: Bake Sans PRIMARY FUNCTION: Type Design and Specimen INSPIRATION: Inspiration was from the International Style, and the minimalism and clarity of Swiss-type design inspired the letterforms. Foremost was the concept of a geometric sans serif typeface but with an experimental feel. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bake Sans is a contemporary typeface that exudes style and personality. Inspired by the impartiality of Swiss-type design, this font is a meticulous fusion of contemporary shapes and curves. Crafted with modern and distinctive shapes, curves, and idiosyncrasies, this font offers the perfect visual consistency for branding and communication projects through the experiment forms. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The typeface is available commerically PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started in June 2023 and finished in September 2023 FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Glyphs was used to create the Font family. The Type specimen book was printed as a limited run in offset digital, 4 colors. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The specimen dimensions are 210 x 290 mm TAGS: Type design, Typeface, Specimen RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our research began with the origins of the International Style and Swiss type design, creating forms that could be expanded and adapted into new forms. CHALLENGE: The major challenge was to create a modern San serif based on the traditional forming and adapt them to create a new visual language.
