| DESIGN NAME: Home Oasis PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: With the intention to encourage the passage of light and ample ventilation into the home, we’ve made the openings bigger and taken down obstructing walls to create airy spaces and vistas. Our philosophy is to create relatable spaces that bring about a feeling of enlightenment to the users. Our designs follow simplicity. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Located on a busy suburban junction of Ernakulam city in Kerala, India is this 40 year-old ancestral home that needed to be revamped. Built to accommodate a family of six members, a lovely couple, their three children and their elderly mother. The idea was to unify the entire space and bring back the soul of a house that had undergone minor renovations over the years. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The house is centred around the larger dining area with a side garden. This serves as the meeting point for all the members of the family. The tropical garden on the side makes for good evenings. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project started in November 2021 and completed in June 2022 and is located in Aluva, Kerala, India FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The materials selected unified the old traditions in a contemporary way. The oxide of the walls and stairs, the dining table, chairs and swing are examples of traditional designs.
