| DESIGN NAME: GM11A PRIMARY FUNCTION: Coffee Machine INSPIRATION: Inspired by professional coffee machines that are used in the bar, GM 11A brings the mood of a professional and traditional made espresso at home. Steel polished and steel brushed parts are highlited to bring that professional feeling to the user. Modern cuts and textured side panels gives a unique contrast. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: GM 11A is a multicapsule coffee machine, compatible with ground coffee as well. It has adaptors for almost all most diffused cpasules, paper pod and ground coffee. GM 11A is a small machine for espresso, mainly intended for small offices and kitchens. It has a double spout for coffee and a steam pipe for milk frothing, controlled by a knob on the side of the machine. International look but it is still recognizably Italian in execution and finish. In some north markets will look familiar for the geometric and simple volumes but the details reveal an italian soul. The touch interface gives a final feeling of modern technology on a traditional product. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Simply put the desidered capsule or pod in the matching adaptor on the filter holder, then close the filter holder on the machine with easy and forceless movement , thanks to the long lever. press the desidered touch button and enjoy the aroma coffee experience. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was developed in Italy and Argentina for a Chinese client. The overall time needed from idea to production was 7 months. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Plastic parts are in ABS, the filter holder is in stainless steel, water tank is Lexan. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the machine dimension are 298*116*285mm, the power is 1400w, the water tank is 1L, the pump is italian 19 bar. TAGS: coffee, espresso, machine, ground coffee, capsule RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Benchmark analisys, target market identification, design style and design values guidelines, sketch phase, 3D and rendering phase, mock up and prototype analisys and modification, final 3D and rendering. CHALLENGE: matching the geometric and clean lines of an international style with the decoration and tradition of the italian design and espresso was teh main challenge.
