DESIGN NAME: Collection of Formosa Terroir
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Packaging Design
INSPIRATION: PH7 Creative Lab is a long-time partner of Taiwan agriculture specializing in creating design value for the industry. To increase visibility for innovation, we selected four products with local representation value aligning with ESG around the theme of Collection of Formosa Terroir, including 92 Coffee (Mountain), dried wax apple (Sea), slow brewed tea (Heaven) and jasmine tea (Earth). These are Taiwan’s most authentic local flavors.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Taiwan agriculture has always been a source of pride for the nation, with high-quality products that carry moving tales behind them. To present their beauty, PH7 Creative Lab has brought together farmers’ associations from central, west, south and east Taiwan and selected four products with local representation value that align with ESG around the theme of Collection of Formosa Terroir.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Four unique flavors of the island are collected in a beautifully designed gift box, enabling you to carry mountain, sea, heaven and earth along with you wherever you go. The design adopts the structure of continuous packaging and divides the box into four continuous triangular compartments with independent openings for each of the four key products. In terms of visual impact, a progressive box opening process is introduced according to the sequence of mountain, sea, heaven and earth, guiding you to read the stories of the four areas slowly and gradually appreciate the rich agricultural flavors of Formosa Island as you open the gift box. The combination of the progressive box opening design and unique box structure makes for a product packaging of clever innovation and design impact.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: -
CHALLENGE: Farmers’ associations are farmer organizations unique to Taiwan. There are close to 300 farmers’ associations in Taiwan whose functions are to improve farmers’ knowledge and skills, facilitate agricultural modernization, improve the lives of farmers and develop farming village economies. However, most farmers’ associations are relatively traditional in thinking and thus easily limited in terms of marketing and promotion. PH7 Creative Lab has been building innovative branding for Taiwan agriculture for many years. This time, it has introduced branding and design thinking for the products of four areas, creating stories for the products and introducing aesthetic value in building the design of the Collection of Formosa Terroir gift box with high national representation value for Taiwan. We succeeded in transforming the traditional impression towards agricultural products held by the public and also in creating value for Taiwan agriculture and promoting high-quality product markets.
