| DESIGN NAME: Suprala Font Family PRIMARY FUNCTION: Typeface Specimen INSPIRATION: Inspiration for the font family was from design sketches for a san serif font, but as the process advanced the forms and structures developed in the direction of a hybrid typeface. The designs are rooted in the serif style with some of the glyph terminals developed through sans forms, creating a modern adaptable font family, UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Suprala is a contemporary delicate humanist serif typeface, with beautifully balanced forms, perfect for branding and communications projects. Suprala’s round, elegant, and classically elegant design, supports all major Latin-based languages in twelve styles. True italics advance the aesthetics, bringing energy and making it suitable for modern applications. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The font family was developed in 2022. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The font was first hand drawn and developed in Glyphs. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The font is availbe if TTF, OTF and WOFF fomats. The specimen was a limited print run. TAGS: Font design, Branding, Identity, Type design, Type Specimen RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Researching both Sans and serif typefaces from the early 20th century allowed us to develop a hybrid modern, stylistic humanist typeface. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to develop a new modern language within the design for the typeface, that created a new modern aesthetic.
