| DESIGN NAME: Sorkhroud Seaside Town PRIMARY FUNCTION: Urban Design INSPIRATION: In a villa town, one of the most important things is the scenic view, and at the same time to block the neighbor ’s view to the inner space. So we use rigidity and rotation to achieve both UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In this project, with the help of volume’s rotations, all villas benefit from suitable views and lots of perspective . Neighbors do not have view to one another.(they turn their back on each other.)While each unit is formed in the relation to it’s neighbors and together they form a coherent and unit puzzle, in such a way that if even one villa is removed from the site, the coherence of the complex will be lost. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In creation of an architectural plan of the seaside town, with consideration of facing a set of volumetric masses; at the beginning, our confrontation with volumes was in a narrative way as if volumes are figures which were formed in the reaction of one another and also the formation of surfaces has been abstracted from the social interaction of their masses PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: this project is designd in may 2021 & the construction began in february in the north of the iran & is set to end the next 2 years FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Architecture, Building and Structure Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In this project, our emphasis has been on the relationship between surfaces and forms.Therefore, the purity of the volumes was very important and because of that, micro cement is used for the final layer to create a pure and white coating SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This project is located in sorkhroud city in north of the Iran. It is designed in a 48000 m² land(420m * 130m) & includes 71 villa units (including 6 main types ) .every villa´s land is about 500 m² . all of them are formed in 3 floors & have an area of 450 m². TAGS: urban design , seaside town ,villa , residential RESEARCH ABSTRACT: we researched about the climate & tried to find a way to use air circulation for decreasing hiumidity by spacing villas. Also the rotation of volumetric masses has been formed due to have wider perspective. CHALLENGE: .one of the most important challenge that we faced to it `we need too many parkings limits for villas during vacations . We placed some of them in the remaining space between all 4 modules that were combined. NAME: kalbod studio PROFILE: During his years of activity, Mr. Mohammad Rahimizadeh, the founder and principal architect at Kalbod design studio, has designed various projects with a variety of uses and scales. To provide a contemporary alternative to traditional Iranian architecture, we, at Kalbod Design Studio try to respond accurately to challenges of the climatic, economic, political, social, and cultural conditions of each project. In addition to creativity and quality, the Kalbod studio knows the needs and limitations of its projects well and designs beyond nationalities and specialized disciplines, regardless of borders. These projects target atmospheric charisma, emotional urgency, and environmental sustainability already expressed in the design. At Kalbod Design Studio we focus on the emerging new era of architecture, from digitalization to channeling climate change, saving recourses, reducing the use of fossil fuels, biodiversity, and social requirements of post-pandemic societies. We see architecture as an excellent problem-solving tool, from mini dwellings scale to massive skyscrapers addressing the latest trends and needs of the 21st-century way of living. Among the successful local projects of Kalbod Studio, we can mention the Qeytariyeh project, which has become the finalist of the LOOP design awards 2021, and the Esteghlal Hotel and Minus Villa, which has been selected as the finalist in 2A magazine awards 2021. Minus Villa has been selected as an honorable mention in IDA 2021. Lego School in Africa, Media District in Toronto, Healthcare City, and Sandstorm absorbent skyscraper both in Dubai and also Iceland Greenhouse Restaurant are other internationally successful projects of Kalbod Studio. |
