| DESIGN NAME: Pheather PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table INSPIRATION: Inspiration came from the seek for wooden materials & design that is never-out-of-fashion UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Pheather is designed as a minimalist table. With the length of 2000-2200mm, it seats 6-8 people comfortably. It fits different contexts: modern or vintage. It can be a dinning table, working or coffee table. It goes really well with different chair types. Unique supporting structure & design keep the top from warping without the use of frame as traditional table. Material's hardness & exceptional wood processing techniques make it a true asset that lasts for years. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The frameless design gives out a zen vibe and free the space underneath. All corners of Pheather are elegantly rounded, letting the wood grain flow and amplifies its vibrant appearance. With fine surfaces and high bearing capacity thanks to the trio-component design, it creates a pleasant experience for users’ senses, which leave them the soft, smooth feelings on the skin when touched and no worry of sharp and hard details. The eyes are the most satisfied by well-chosen elements with similar colors and patterns. All of them are selected with meticulosity to assemble and make the table top a picturesque scene with endless woodgrain movements. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Materials: Pheasantwood SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Length 2200 x Depth 860 x Height 760 TAGS: minimalist table; frameless table, pheather, pheasantwood table RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: The most challenging task was table leg design. We tried at least 3 different leg types and after testing the durability, current design was picked. NAME: SF Solutions Co., Ltd PROFILE: SF Solutions stands for Smart Furniture solutions. We are well aware that very high percentage of furniture nowadays has a short lifecycle ending up in a landfill and we are thinking about doing something different. We believe furniture should be a true lasting asset instead, and a good design should facilitate that. We are designer & manufacturer based in Hochiminh City, Vietnam. Our main material - pheasantwood <cassia siamea> is locally sourced from coffee farms. With excellent properties, it is not inferior to any other well known woods such as walnut or teak. We focus on minimalism designs that not only celebrate the inherent beauty nature but also harmonize with the modern life. |
