| DESIGN NAME: Honyoung New Era PRIMARY FUNCTION: Building INSPIRATION: The design is inspired from the "big tree", whose organic system from roots to canopy reshapes the surrounding environment. We try to completely upgrade the old environment by inserting a dendriform spatial organism into the old building. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is the office and production plant building of the former owner, covering an area of about 12,000 m2 and with a total floor area of about 26,000 m2. The entire building is L-shaped, with six floors above ground. The overall renovation is designed as a thorough internal and external remodeling based on the interior and exterior composition mechanism of the original building and the five principles of "versatility&qu OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Spatial Structure Remodeling The internal space is reorganized like a tree. A new set of vertical traffic cores are inserted into the original building to form the "backbone" PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2018 and completed in September 2010 in Beijing,China. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Facade and Architectural Form Remodeling Based on the restoration of the basic architectural composition logic, we adopt the glass curtain wall with exterior decorative sun-shading grille and the white stone curtain wall as the main exterior finishing materials. The east and west sides of the building are mainly for exhibition along the street and need to be emphasized. These two sides are arranged virtually by controlling the lighting surface and adding vertical decorative sun-shading grille, creating a modern and concise facade image. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The area of project is 26000 square meter. The first is how to create a new facade image without changing the original contour as much as possible. The second is how to make the original factory space, which was only used for industrial production, transform into a space suitable for people's office life and be more "humane".
