The Cloud Mountain Type inspired by Zhang Jiajie, the Chinese cloud-fog mountains and ancient Chinese landscape painting. Combined the traditional Chinese clouds landscape with western character.

The Cloud Mountain Type inspired by Zhang Jiajie, the Chinese cloud-fog mountains and ancient Chinese landscape painting. Combined the traditional Chinese clouds landscape with western character. The Chinese saying: You cannot recognize the shape of a mountain when you stand on it. When you stare at the details of the font, you even can’t recognize the letter itself, that is because you have already stand on the cloud-fog mountains.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The Cloud Mountain Type inspired by Zhang Jiajie, the Chinese cloud-fog mountains and ancient Chinese landscape painting. Combined the traditional Chinese clouds landscape with western character.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in 2016 in Beijing and finished in 2021 in Shenzhen, and was exhibited in New York, Berlin and Seoul.

Meng Shenhui, Founder and art director of Chengmei Design, Deputy Secretary general of Shenzhen Graphic Design Association (SGDA), Graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts and University of the Arts Berlin, Germany, Member of New York Type Directors Club, Member of British Design and Art Directors Association (D&AD). His works have won many famous design awards such as German Red Dot Award, German iF Communication Design Award, German iF Product Design Award, New York TDC Design Award, Japan Toyama International Poster Exhibition, German Mut Zur Wut international Poster Exhibition and Dutch Graphic Matters Design Award, TRNAVA International Poster Triennale, Taiwan Golden Pin Design Award and so on; For 5 consecutive years, his works have been collected in APD Asia Pacific Design Yearbook, and have been selected into the Shenzhen 40th anniversary Design Exhibition, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Design Exhibition, the 8th China National Book Design Art Exhibition, Shanghai Asia Graphic Design Biennial, etc. His works have been exhibited in Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, Russia, Slovakia, South Korea, Japan, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taiwan, Wuhan and many other places.
