| DESIGN NAME: Against Suicide PRIMARY FUNCTION: Social Graphic INSPIRATION: Thoughts of suicide can affect anyone, at any time in life. In these difficult times, isolation and social pressures are increasing problems. On the other hand, Depressions are still a taboo and a stigma. Those affected often remain silent until the thoughts start to cycle and in the worst case, the can turn into a suicidal chain reaction. Suicide and depressions are a taboo topic. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: AgainstSuicide is an illustrative / inclusive campaign design concept. The large illustration of the chain reaction shows various triggers and the solution in the form of auxiliary assumptions. The poster should be placed in public places across from squares or stops where the viewer has time to perceive what is being visualized. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The large poster in the waiting area and in public places is intended to break the taboo of depressions and invite to discuss – everyone knows one of these. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project idea startet in Germany, but it can be an international prevention. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The illustration was drawn with vectors. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: It can be produced as a big Plakat, as Flyer, or as a newspaper print TAGS: Socialgraphic, Illustration, Vectorillustration, Prevention, Suicide, Care, Depressions, #AgainstSuicide RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The big poster is full of details, full of little things and interactions, like the little triggers and phases of a suicidal process. Triggers they want to be found and they everybody knows. Those affected feel more understood and the inconspicuous design means that they are less reluctant to seek help. NAME: Lara PROFILE: Lara Wilkin born in Gladbeck, Nordrhein-Westfalen (NRW) is a Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Scenographer from Germany who is specialized and focused on profounded and social Illustrations and Vector Illustrations full of details. She got the Bachelor of Arts in “Design-Media-Communikation“ and the Master of Arts at the subject area of “Scenography and Communication“ at the University of Applied Science and Arts - Fachhochschule Dortmund. Information graphics are also a great area of interest for Ms. Wilkin. She likes to take the viewer of their work on a journey, provocative trips, insightful and informative trips - trips into the details. |
