DESIGN NAME: Mamba Chiliast
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Brand Identity
INSPIRATION: The logo uses the shape of hexagram as the visual framework, and the letters M and C in it combine to form the shape. This design intuitively calls people's collective memory and conveys comprehensive feelings about religion, organization, and energy.
The eye of Mamba in the Logo, as the visual center, lights up the visual framework of the logo. The eye, representing the Mamba, serves as a reminder that fans' thoughts and deeds are always seen by their hero. This design is reminiscent of 'the eye of providence' and calls more people's collective memory.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Mamba Chiliast (MC) is a basketball community for Kobe Bryant’s fans who believe in the Mamba Mentality. It organizes fans through basketball activities and provide fans with a sense of belonging, pride and distinction. Different from other brands, MC wants to tell their users that we are sharing a common belief and we are a group through the delivery of the sense of religion and power. The use of elements in the brand is reminiscent of these feelings, and makes the brand unique.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Powerful visual signals, it distinctly symbolizes the fan community
It conveys the passion, resilience and bravery of the Mamba Mentality
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2021 and finished in November 2021 in Beijing, China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The logo is combined to the shape of hexagram, so most of the details are in its proportions. However, the foot of m is slightly protruding from the figure, in order to compensate for the visual deviation and make the logo more stable as a whole.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: It can be printed, sewed or injection molded in a variety of sizes

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We believe that using people's collective memory in the communication process can not only improve communication efficiency, but also stimulate more emotional feelings. Through long-term communication, the hexagram symbol builds up a collective memory of the image about religion, organization, energy, etc. in people's minds.
CHALLENGE: To appeal to and attract Kobe fans without the use of basketball elements.
