| DESIGN NAME: Emotions PRIMARY FUNCTION: Posters INSPIRATION: I was reading a few psychology books recently and a question came to my mind: What would emotions look like in the visual world? So I did the research and created the posters with graphics and illustrations in English and Chinese. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Emotions is a series of posters that represent four different types of basic emotions - Joy, Anger, Sadness, and Fear. The posters also show the connection between emotions and facial expressions in visual form. The design was created in its own grid with abstract illustrations, vibrant colors, and dynamic typography. At the same time, each graphic, illustration, and typography also work as individual designs on its own. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This series of posters were designed for both digital and print applications. The posters can be viewed on screens, prints and OOH, etc. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 2021 Los Angeles FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The posters were created and designed with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Each poster application was designed in its unique form depending on the dimension. At the same time, all the poster designs work as a system. TAGS: Graphic Design, Illustration, Posters, Visual Communication RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research of this project was based on information about the subject from the internet. CHALLENGE: Emotions can be abstract and also representational at the same time. The challenge of the project was how to visualize emotions in playful and contemporary design/illustration styles. The research on the connection between facial expressions and emotions was also a challenge but an interesting subject.
