| DESIGN NAME: Hongzhou Academy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sales Center INSPIRATION: The area has a splendid cultural history in ancient times, so the form fully refers to the ancient Chinese architecture. Aluminum plates are connected by buckles, forming a unique brick texture on the facade. The smooth arc-shaped curved surface outlines the skyline of the building, which reminds people of the eaves curve of ancient Chinese buildings. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is located in the central area of Nanchang County. As a sales center, it undertakes the functions of negotiation, handwork, children's activity space and display. The building is located at the intersection, so there are two typical blocks facing the urban road respectively. These two blocks shapes the building, and the misplaced part forms the entrance square. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The building provides people with a comfortable purchasing environment. The large area of glass enables people to enjoy the external scenery. The high atrium increases the width of the space. People can regard it as a commercial building or a place to rest. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2020 in Nanchang and finished in December 2020 in Nanchang, China. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Architecture, Building and Structure Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Metallic aluminium sheet, glass, coating Material SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Land area: 2375m² floor area: 1221m² TAGS: traditional cutural, ancient architecture, sales center, curved roof, aluminium sheet RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Chosing the material for roof was a difficulty. Designers compared the effect and cost of Titanium-zinc Panel, Al-Mg-Mn alloy building sheets and aluminium sheet and finally chosed aluminium sheet as the roof material. CHALLENGE: To avoid the glue layer on facade, architects designed a gusset plate unit also use aluminium to insure the tone of the grey facade.
