DESIGN NAME:
HHICC Plaza and Hilton Hotel

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Mix-Use Building

INSPIRATION:
Responding to the urgent needs of the revitalization and reconstruction of the old urban area, the basic goals of this project are reorganizing the industrial structure and improving the quality of community life, and creating a sustainable urban space. Our design vision is to create a people-oriented, walk-friendly, adaptable to the local climate, low carbon, open and inclusive, efficient operation of urban renewal benchmarks.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
It is located on the main transportation road between Guangzhou and Foshan, China, between the old "Fortune Axis" Guangfo Road and Guangfo Shinkansen, and away from the three major transportation hubs in Guangzhou (Guangzhou New Baiyun Airport, Guangzhou New Railway Station, Guangzhou Nansha Port) within 1 hour. The core of the project covers an area of 210,000 square meters, a building area of 135,000 square meters, and a building height of 200 meters.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The aesthetic orientation strives to present the elegance and purity of the East, minimalist, eternal, smooth, lively, clear, and whiter than white. The facade of the project adopts a simple and elegant streamlined design technique, the super high rise tower uses a smooth curved surface rotation shape, and the commercial podium adopts a stepped stacking process to create a natural, smooth and ecological urban design scene. The surface of the building is consistent with the architectural style, with simple and flowing white horizontal lines shaping a bright and upward rhythm. The overall layout of the building is more distinctive than the existing urban texture in the surrounding area. Overall, it is very landmark, forward-looking, and soft in the east. The climate adaptability of the building is an area of great concern for this project. The super high-rise tower does not use the popular large-area glass curtain wall design, but uses the protruding structural outer beams of each layer to form a horizontal sunshade floating board to reduce the heat absorption of direct sunlight, thereby achieving the effect of passive energy saving. The thickness and appearance density of floating slabs are based on the distribution of floor functions and the calculation of annual thermal energy absorption. There are different combinations of facade sizes in different sections and heights. What you see is what you get, and a series of measures to optimize building performance in terms of energy-saving and sustainable design have become building facade features. The arc treatment at the corners of high-rise buildings also effectively reduces wind loads, saves structural and civil construction materials, and reduces carbon footprint in multiple dimensions. The completion of the project has effectively improved the overall quality of the local city. The city’s appearance has changed from the dirty, chaotic, and trendy to today’s stylish atmosphere, with orderly traffic, complete community facilities, upgraded industries, and outstanding achievements in creating social and economic value. . In fact, high quality urban renewal can create a win win situation. Through excellent design, it can obtain incremental rewards from the government in terms of development intensity and building height. Capital gains value. The original messy industrial warehouses have now become urban landmarks. The city and the environment are changing silently, hoping to become more beautiful and better. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The Guangzhou-Foshan metropolitan area is the economic and cultural core of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao Greater Bay Area. The project plot is adjacent to Foshan Ring Expressway and Guangzhou Ring Expressway, and adjacent to Guangfo Metro. The unique geographical advantage enables the project to fully accept the radiation and vitality of the two Pearl River Delta metropolitan areas of Guangzhou and Foshan. Currently, the surrounding area is mainly low end building materials wholesale markets and warehouses, and lacks competitive and appealing commercial complex facilities. Commercial activities in the surrounding communities are highly active, but high-quality commercial activities and consumption space are scarce, and residents' spending power also needs to be activated. Current traffic is also facing the general mess and congestion in Asian cities, and there is an urgent need for comprehensive environmental improvement through high-quality urban renewal.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The project is committed to creating a high-quality car-free pedestrian space, through a large number of first floors overhead, allowing people to move freely and comfortably. The central square serves as a celebration-style hub, accommodating the sights of all parties and forming an open space with climaxes. The high rise tower is different from the traditional bottom-up, adopting the top-down moving line design. Guests first arrive at the Air Lobby and Air Chef (full day dining) on the 50th floor to enjoy the 360 degree view of the city. The sky swimming pool on the 38th floor is condescending to overlook the bustling city, and the guest room floor is deliberately placed under the public area, creating a relaxed feeling of traveling home. The shopping mall introduces a retreat design, and a large number of catering formats are set up in outdoor and semi outdoor spaces, from roof gardens to landscape corridors, ingeniously grafting sunlight, nature and green ecology into commercial spaces. The sunken courtyard and dry spray plaza provide children with multi-purpose activity space. By enhancing the diversified experience of customers in the business district, and shaping people's sensory and psychological identity, consumers' consumption awareness and shopping behavior can be guided naturally and comfortably.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The project is a commercial complex integrating star rated hotels, offices, commerce, banquets and exhibitions. The international brand Hilton Hotel occupies the highest part of the super high-rise tower. The lobby of the hotel is located at an altitude of 170 meters, with a panoramic view of the two prosperous capitals of Guangzhou and Buddha. The architectural layout is mainly composed of several major functions such as commerce, office, hotel, banquet and exhibition. Different functional areas are interspersed, enclosed and superimposed, forming a diversified and highly integrated commercial format and urban design model. The function of the site and traffic flow are complex, and it is necessary to dredge and guide different people through carefully planned urban and landscape design; therefore, landscape design also uses a large number of curved elements in space, and realizes experiential business through flowing and smooth landscape design The concept of space better reorganizes and drives the efficient operation of the people flow system.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Before the project was rebuilt, it was the largest timber trading market in the region, with a rudimentary structure, crowded vehicles competing for roads, mixed traffic and a single industry. It is also a challenge to rearrange the commercial format in the compact site and complicated surrounding conditions. In summary, the following strategies have important guiding significance for the overall design orientation: 1. Landmark: Create an urban complex with regional landmarks, and activate the surrounding urban design and human vehicle transportation system 2. Experience: creating a public environment suitable for all ages and people of all ages can participate and experience 3. Diversity: create an urban space and business environment that can tolerate diverse activities and is constantly active day and night 4. Accessibility: to create a guiding landscape, so that customers can move between various areas smoothly and freely 5. Livability: create a low-carbon, energy-saving, sustainable and livable human-oriented space and landscape system In the past few decades, the urban agglomerations in Asia, especially in the Pearl River Delta, have been developing into a global industrial production core complex based on manufacturing. High intensity industrial manufacturing is accompanied by the development of high density urbanization, which has caused varying degrees of impact on the environment, ecology, climate, and urban features and skylines. Throughout the urban landscape of the entire Pearl River Delta metropolis group, there was once a large number of crude and cheap simple buildings, workshops, and storage, infrastructure and community facilities were weak, the environment and transportation lacked good governance, and the city lacked the proper quality of life. To break through the barriers of this common phenomenon in Asian cities, the design must be simple, and through rational and scientific research, with a sustainable development attitude and execution ability to deal with the various challenges of urban renewal. The project actively responds to the local climatic conditions in Southeast Asia, avoiding heat radiation, effectively controlling energy consumption, and enhancing ventilation and daylighting through clever modeling of architectural shapes. Architectural aesthetics strongly advocates the softness and purity of the East and the simple Asian tone. Various beautiful arcs and curved surfaces are interspersed and blended, which effectively reduces the physical and visual impact of the building on the surrounding environment, making the design seem approachable and self-evident. Affinity. The design philosophy of simplicity, simplicity and function led design also hopes to influence and guide new Asian aesthetic trends, so that the general public will have a new understanding of the shaping of the value of beauty and goodness in urban renewal.
