| DESIGN NAME: Rui Ming Chinese Medical Clinic PRIMARY FUNCTION: Clinic Interior Design INSPIRATION: The interior of the clinic features a keynote color of white to create a vibe of being bright and clean, laid-back and cozy. Its layout is based on the concept of being human-based and emulating nature. Inspired by the growth of living things in nature and their eco-system, the design has a public section whose walls and ceiling present multiple tiers of strips, thereby creating an image of sedimentary rocks formed in nature. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The clinic, in Imitation of Nature is a clinic for treatment in Chinese herbal medicine. Its two-story construction on a long, narrow strip of land covers a diversity of facilities, including a counter, a dispensary, a waiting zone, a consulting room, a treatment room, and a room for aesthetic medicine. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The long, narrow layout is divided into two sections that meet different needs, encompassing facilities and ease of movement. In this way, an easy flow in the hallway is maintained, and a sense of axis also comes about. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Clinic in Imitation of Nature is a clinic for treatment in Chinese herbal medicine. Its two-story construction on a long, narrow strip of land covers a diversity of facilities, including a counter, a dispensary, a waiting zone, a consulting room, a treatment room, and a room for aesthetic medicine. The long, narrow layout is divided into two sections that meet different needs, encompassing facilities and ease of movement. In this way, an easy flow in the hallway is maintained, and a sense of axis also comes about. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 116 square meters TAGS: HOMI DESIGN CONSTRUCTION CO., LTD . RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Upon entering the clinic, what visitors see behind the counter is an enclosed dispensary and a treatment room on the left, which, together with the open-plan waiting zone on the right, form an image of a gorge. In the neat lighting, a clear view comes into sight as if exposed to natural light, making patients feel like being in virtual nature and feel relaxed and pleased. CHALLENGE: The walls shaped like sedimentary rocks fittingly enclose and contain different articles of furniture, including eye-catching planters for vegetation, as well as shelves for newspapers and magazines next to the treatment room. Items of various functions are gathered neatly. A unity in design style makes for a consistent aesthetic. Along the flow further into the building is a staircase that connects the two floors. Based on the idea of “The absence of bamboo makes one tasteless and vulgar,” tall bamboo stems are embodied in long iron pipes, while elegant bamboo plants in the niches on the walls of the stairway serve to conceal, act as rails, and decorate. Paired perfectly with the gorge-like walls and the ceiling, they allow those in the clinic to have a unique experience of enjoying mimicry of nature.
