| DESIGN NAME: Money Talks PRIMARY FUNCTION: Illustration INSPIRATION: The design concept of Money Talks is derived from some things that people have experienced and seen before and more and more movies and TV series adapted from real events. Based on these and collected data, the design team sort out the general direction through investigation and propose myself. Finally, after discussing and revising with team members, formally confirm the visual sense of officialdom. The Money Talks is just like the name, it is to surface the ugliness and darkness in the officialdom. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The officialdom is a pool of deep water, dirty, chaotic and muddy, just like hundreds of ghosts that haunt at night. They are being an official, not seeking benefits for the people, but pursuing fame and fortune. This is a bad social atmosphere. There are unspoken rules everywhere. The ugly state of pursuit of these rights is the source of depraved social psychology. Therefore, the design team think that it is the best to use hundreds of ghosts to embody these twisted and terrifying situation. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This series received a number of positive opinions and were highly acclaimed on many fields. Moreover, numerous people had been touched and they had thought these works will not be forgotten ever. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width: 297mm x Height: 420mm x Weight: 200gm TAGS: Money Talks, Anti-Corruption, With the people in my heart RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Money Talks is a condemnation of modern officialdom and social corruption. The series of works are hideous, showing the darkness behind the positive image of officialdom via images of hundreds of ghosts. The design team wanted to tell the officials that they should make every effort to govern, act honestly, be diligent for the people, and uphold justice. The design team hope that people get spiritual encouragement, ideological enlightenment and even spurs on words and deeds while providing people with artistic enjoyment, . This is the desire for honest and justice for modern officialdom in this series. CHALLENGE: The most significant challenge was to express our perspectives via visual communication method in illustrations. Therefore, the design team spent a great deal of time studying and finding the way to balance the aesthetic, expression and visual elements at the same time. NAME: Huzhou University PROFILE: Huzhou University is a full-time comprehensive university. Its history dated back to the year of 1916 when the Qiantang Dao(“Dao” is an old administrative unit, almost likes the “county”) set up the NO.3 Teachers’ Training School. It began to carry out higher education program in 1958, and started to enroll undergraduates in 1994. In March 1999, Huzhou University was founded by consolidating three former colleges and schools: Huzhou Normal Junior College, Huzhou Teacher’s School and Huzhou Teacher’s Training School. In May 2000, former Huzhou Medical School was merged into the newly founded university. Huzhou University passed the assessment of undergraduate teaching work organized by the Ministry of Education for evaluation of “good” in November 2005. The university has been entitled as the National Civilized Unit. It is qualified to enroll and cultivate both undergraduates and postgraduates and among the list of pilot universities to implement the national education training programs called “Excellent Doctors” and “Excellent Talents of Agriculture and Forestry”. Huzhou University is one of the key universities in the process of enrollment of regular institutions of higher education in Zhejiang Province. |
