DESIGN NAME: Longhuli
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Shopping Mall
INSPIRATION: Inspired by the Chinese-style space, the "garden" is the enclosure and semi-enclosure of different scales after the house is split and reorganized; the "li" is the exclusive outdoor space of the occupants formed by the long scale of the street. The combination of some atrium space and some external space naturally forms an "open garden" space.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is located in the core area of Longhu area of Zhengzhou. It faces Jiuru Road in the east and Longhu Zhonghuan South Road in the north. The site area of 12,107.89 square meters and a total construction area of 45083.19 square meters. Three floors underground and four floors above ground. The entire project is based on the design concept of "open courtyard" space, creates a "garden-style" shopping plaza that emphasizes the experience of natural living atmosphere.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The entire project has created a series of multi-level external spaces with the design concept of "open garden" space, cultural and creative genes, high greening, multiple courtyards, multiple paths and multiple boundaries. From the perspective of each consumer, the optimization of business dynamics will guide the rational flow of customers for the business center and meet the needs of consumers as one-stop consumption of leisure, shopping and entertainment.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was designed in Henan, China in April 2015, the design was completed in February 2016, and it was opened in Henan, China in December 2019.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The project incorporates the essence of Chinese classical culture and transforms into elemental symbols to interpret the soul of the Central Plains culture, combined with modern and simple techniques, to express the charm of the building and construct a unique new Chinese style. It adopts an open garden structure and is fully integrated with the surrounding environment, creating a local community hub and becoming the preferred place for family and friends to gather and chat.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The interior design area of this project totals 46,000 square meters. Using the concept of vertical greening, the greening landscape area will be scattered on the first floor, the three-level aerial platform and roof to create a one-stop open-block consumption center that integrates shopping, dining, entertainment, leisure, culture, and public services.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The site is located in Zhengzhou, Henan, Longhu District of Zhengdong. The north and south are sandwiched between Zhengdongxin CBD and the CBD sub-center; the west is connected to the urban area, and the east is connected to the high-speed rail station and Longzi Lake.
According to the planning layout of "Two Circles, One Belt, One Square" in Zhengdong New District. The project has six vertical and four horizontal traffic patterns, including bus, subway, LRT light rail, water bus and other three-dimensional traffic structures. Get to the whole city within 30 minutes, driving huge immediate capacity.
CHALLENGE: The project originally used financial office space as a use purpose. After several twists and turns, this piece of land no longer needs only office, but more commercial projects that respond to the surrounding population structure. How to design and plan the environment and strengthen the overall space atmosphere, continue the soft Chinese space intention with the original framework as the principle, and create a memorable theme image of the shopping center.
